You start an "application" for a day care program for which the applicant may be eligible. The Application Summary data applies to
the entire household. You will hear it referred to as data about "Mom", although there is certainly no reason that a father may not be
the head of the household. In some cases an eligible household may have two parents.
TIPS
Make sure that you search for an existing application before you add a new one.
You can add another child to an existing application without starting a new application.
If a child is enrolled in one center and moves to another, you do not need a new application. Simply add a new Enrollment to the
existing Application.
Add a new application for a child only if he/she qualifies under another funding source.
Funding sources are known as Programs B such as 'SS' for State Subsidy and 'START' for Smart Start.
By the way, ONECase uses the term "application" for consistency with other ONECase modules, acknowledging that the day care
"application" may already be approved as it is initially set up in the module.
Each application carries a unique Application Number, which is assigned by ONECase. The Application Number is not related to
the County Case Number or to any case number maintained in the state EIS system. ONECase automatically assigns the unique
Application Number for each Program under which a Household may have enrolled children.
Once the application is set up in ONECase, you can access the 'Application' screens directly by keying the Application Number on
the initial selection screen or you can lookup the Application Number by using the lookup function.
To enroll a child, you must 1) key the 'Application Summary' data that applies to all children within the eligible household, 2) key
'Child Application' data that applies to individual children, and 3) key 'Enrollment' data about each vendor arrangement.
