PLACEMENT IN A HOME

Step 9: Add New Placement

You start an "application" for a placement service for which the child may be eligible. The Placement Summary data applies to the child who is being placed in a home.

· Make sure that you search for an existing application before you add a new one.
· You can add another child to an existing application without starting a new application.
· If a child is placed in one home and moves to another, you do not need a new application. Simply terminate the old
Placement and add a new Placement in the existing Application.

By the way, ONECase uses the term "application" for consistency with other ONECase modules, acknowledging that the placement "application" may already be approved as it is initially set up in the module.

Each application carries a unique Application Number, which is assigned by ONECase. The Application Number is not related to the County Case Number or to any case number maintained in the state EIS system. ONECase automatically assigns the unique Application Number for each Program under which a Household may have enrolled children.

Once the application is set up in ONECase, you can access the 'Application' screens directly by keying the Application Number on the initial selection screen or you can lookup the Application Number by using the lookup function.
