Can we pay enhancement fees in non START applications?

Will OneCase let us pay an enhancement fee on an arrangement that is not START (Smart Start)? We want to pay an enhancement fee of $35 each month for children age 5 or less enrolled in AA centers in programs other than START. We have been paying the fee for children in START enrollments and it works fine.

Yes, an enhancement fee which is funded by Smart Start can be paid when the child is enrolled in a program other than START. The Vendor Payment Report will show the enhancement fee as a separate line item. The turnaround file will so the same. The same edits apply.

To set up the enhancement fee, you need to take the following steps:

Step 1: The 'Smart Start Used?' flag on the Day Care Control record must indicate 'Y' The monthly and daily rates must be keyed on the same screen. Use Option 1 on Menu 48. 

Step 2: The Vendor Control record must indicate 'Y' for Eligible for Smart Start for every month that the enhancement is to be paid. Use Option 6 on Menu 48. 

Step 3: The Enrollment record must indicate an enhancement code on every child for whom the enhancement is to be paid. Use Option 1 on Menu 41. Access the Enrollments screen for the child.

Note that the enhancement rate is the same for all Programs.
