Allegation notes in View mode only?

On Incident 127, Supervisor Amy Huber is unable to change or enter any information in this incident. She is in the "Work with Incident Mode" but it only allows her to view. She has full authority. We need to know how to correct this as she needs to be able to accept or screen these incidents in a timely manner.

RESPONSE
Good question! This one was fun! Here's the answer. Allegation notes appear in VIEW mode when the incident is "completed" or when the current date is more than the 'Number of Days Allegation Notes can be Changed' value in CPS Controls.

The "Number of Days Allegation Notes can be Changed' value on your system is '5' days. That means that the allegation notes cannot be changed on the sixth day after the 'Date Reported' date -- in other words, the notes appear in VIEW mode. On incident 127, someone keyed 'Date Reported' as 9/21/1990, rather then 9/21/1999. Aha! Yo, Sherlock.

Its good that this question came up because it gives you a chance to check your policy. You may have set the 'Number of Days Allegation Notes can be Changed' at '5' on purpose or you may not have. A value of '0' means that the allegation notes can be changed at any time until the Incident is "complete". See below. If you want to limit the number of days that the notes can be changed, key a value other than '0' into this field.

Okay, that's clear, but how is an incident "completed"? In one of two ways. When you key a 'Date Investigation Completed' or a 'Type Found' code defined on the CPS Controls screen as one of the "screened out" codes. Go to the 'Work with Incident Completion' screen on Incident 127 (use the F16 key). The 'Date Investigation Completed' is blank. The 'Type Found' value is '8'. Ergo, the incident is not "complete" yet. Voila!

Rock on.

Can only view Allegation Note?

Again, Supervisor Amy Huber is attempting to get into log Number 400 in order
to assign it. This is an ABUSE case and needs top priority but she can only
view the allegations notes. She has top clearance as do I and the Intake
worker and we are also unable to change any of the allegation notes or accept
the report. This is the second time this has happened and it cannot
continue. The last time it happened, Tom called me and the problem (whatever
it was) had resolved itself and we were able to go in and change the
allegation notes. Please help, we need to get this resolved because this is
holding up things.

By the way, Mr. Cox says that you should call him or Mr. Briley directly if
you have a problem that really needs fixing right then. Sometimes I get
wrapped up in researching a problem and cannot get back to my message queque
until several hours later -- like right now, its 8:30 at night.
