Function Keys

Enter

Passes the data keyed on the screen to the program for validation and editing. Look for messages indicating data errors. In this program the Enter key does not update the data on the screen. Press F13=Update to save the data.

F1 Access additional data screen. (F1=MoreData+)

Place cursor on field marked with '+' and press the function key to reveal a screen/window with additional data. The '+' highlights in reverse image when there is more data on the window than shows on the main screen.

• On the 'Referral Date/Source' field to access the Referral screen.
• On the 'Assessment Result' field to access the Assessment screen.
• On the 'Plan Date/Goal' field to access the Case Plan screen.
• On the 'FC Payment Program' field to access the FC Assistance Payment Program screen.
• On the 'DSS-5094 Last Changed' field to access the DSS-5094 Data screen.
• On the 'Assistance Agreement' field to access the Adoption Assistance Agreement screen.

F2 End this Application. (F2=End Appl)

Returns to Placement Selection screen. This key does not update the data on the screen. Press F13=Update to save the data before leaving the screen. The program displays a warning message if you attempt to leave the screen before pressing F13=Update to save the data. Press the F12 key again if you want to leave without updating.

F3 Exit the program. (F3=Exit)

Returns to the menu (or program) from which the current program was called. This key does not update the data on the screen. Press F13=Update to save the data before leaving the screen. The program displays a warning message if you attempt to leave the screen before pressing F13=Update to save the data. Press the F3 key again if you want to leave without updating.

F6 Add New Application. (F6=Add New Application)

Use this key to create a new placement application. The program pulls the next Application Number from the counter in Placement Controls. The screen will be in ADD mode.

F8 Lookup Value. (F8=Lookup*)

The F8 key is operative on any field marked with an asterisk. 
• Position the cursor on any Date field, then press the function key to fill with field with the current date, ie the system date.
• Position the cursor on any Person Number field, then press the key to access the "Lookup Person Number" procedure.
• Position the cursor on a standard code field, then press the key to access "Lookup Standard Codes" procedure.
• Position the cursor on the ONE/Case Number field, then press the key to access "Lookup ONE/Case Number" procedure.
• Position the cursor on the Worker ID field, then press the key to access the "Lookup Worker ID" procedure.
• Position the cursor on the Service field, then press the key to access the "Lookup Service" procedure.

F8 "Lookup Placement Application Number". (F8=Lookup*)

To change or delete an application you will need to know the PS Application Number. If you do not know the Number, you can lookup it up. The F8 key is operative on any field marked with an asterisk. Position the cursor on the field and press this key to display a list of Placement Applications. 

F8 "Lookup Placement Home Number". (F8=Lookup*)

The F8 key is operative on any field marked with an asterisk. If you do not know the Placement Home Number, position the cursor on the Home Number field and press this key to display a list of Placement Homes. 

F9 "Work with Data about Persons". (F9=Person)

Accesses the "Work with Data about Persons" for the Client or Person Number specified. WWDP is the same procedure available on the Case Worker menu (21). For more information, see the "Work with Data about Persons" guide.

F10 Next Placement Application. (F10=NxtAppl)

When more than one applicant is included in the same PS Application, access the application in sequence by pressing this key. The function cycles through applicants sequentially, starting with the first after the last is displayed.

F11 Switch to Adoption Screen. (F11=Adoption)

Press this key to reveal a second screen on which a worker can maintain Adoption data. Press the key again to return to the Placement Summary screen.

F12 Return. (F12=Return)

Returns to the screen displayed immediately prior to the screen now shown. Use this function to avoid saving the data keyed after the last update.

F13 Save Data on the screen. (F13=Update)

Updates the database with the data shown on the screen at the time you press the key. The change is immediate. Once you press the key, there is no backtracking. To validate or edit the data prior to updating, press the Enter key.

'F13=Update' is displayed in reverse-image format when the screen is accessed or after pressing Enter. Pressing Enter
validates/edits the data on the screen but does not update the database. Whenever F13=Update is lit, turn the light off by pressing the key. Doing this ensures that you will not lose the data you keyed onto the screen.

If you press F3=Exit or F12=Return before updating by pressing the F13=Update key, the program presents a warning message such as 'Press F13 to save this data or press F3/F12 again'.

F14 "Work with Cases". (F14=Case)

Press this key to access the "Work with Cases" procedure for the Case displayed in the heading space on the screen. For more information about "Work with Cases," read the separate guide

F15 Plan Case Activities. (F15=Cs Plan)

Enables you to create activities for the Case specified in the heading space on the screen. For more information, see the description of the Plan Case Activities function in the "Work with Cases" guide.

F16 "Work with Case Activities". (F16=Cs Act)

Accesses the "Work with Case Activities" procedure for the Case specified in the heading space on the screen. For more information about the WWCA procedure, see the description of the "Work with Case Activities" guide. 

F18 Refer Person for Service. (F18=Referral)

Presents a window through which a ONE/Case referral may be created. The function creates referral activities for both the Refer From and Refer To workers. It sends an electronic message to the Refer To worker. For more information, see the description of the Refer Person for Service function described in the "Work with Cases" guide.

F20 "Work with Notes". (F20=Notes)

Accesses the "Work with Notes" procedure. For more information about the procedure, see the "Work with Notes" guide. 

F21 Display Status. (F21=Status)

Press this key to display several informative fields about the creation and last maintenance of the data record.

F24 ZIP Screen. (F24=ZIP)

Press this key to display the ZIP screen.
