Pending Maintenance

The Pending Maintenance function serves as temporary storage for change requests until the requested change can be verified prior to actually changing the person file data record. The authorized worker in the agency responsible for maintaining Person data should review and analyze the pending maintenance. The worker should determine if the request is "reasonable" or can be verified. For example, change requests for the same data element, such as address, submitted by more than one case would be considered more "reasonable" or valid than a request from a single source.

In some instances the identity of a single source of the change request may be sufficient reason to go ahead and process the change. For example, if the change request was submitted by a school teacher who has daily contact with the person whose record is to be changed, then that may be reason enough to accept the change. The same reasoning may apply to a change submitted by case worker who has just returned from a home visit.

Process pending maintenance changes
Program will process a pending maintenance change to the person file as instructed by the terminal operator. A change may be directly applied to the person file, partially applied (selected data elements), rejected or held for some future review. A notice may be directed to the requesting provider/agency depending upon the flag setting on the provider/agency record. A notice may be directed to the requesting worker when the change is rejected.
