howto: Access the 'Define Household' Screen
Press the 'F17=Members' key to go to the 'Define Household' screen.
The 'Define Household' screen is the cross-roads of the Client Statement electronic workbook. From this screen you can perform all
the important functions except asking the program-sensitive questions. Each user needs to master the functions available from this
screen. Spend as much time as it takes to master this screen.
The screen derives its name from the fact that in the earliest versions of the Client Statement program, it was the screen through
which you incorporated all the members of household into the electronic application. In this sense its function is similar to the
fold-out pages of the ASAP workbook onto which you write data about all the persons in the assistance and budget units.
Whomever you would include on those pages needs to be added to this screen.

The Applicant and the other Household Members
You should encounter this screen for the first time immediately after you start a client statement. The applicant will be the only
person listed on this screen and will be marked with '***' in the Relationship column (*Rlt). All asterisks
('***') means that this person is deemed the applicant or perhaps payee.
You will want to add other members of the household to the screen before you begin asking the F18=Household, F19=Income,
F20=Assets, F21=Medical, F22=Utility, or F23=Shelter questions. Add as many persons as your agency policies require. As a
general rule, you should show any members of the assistance unit or the budget unit.
