The 'Define Household' Options

From the Define Household' screen you can execute the powerful Options and Functions programs. The Options are executed by keying a letter in the 'S' column next to one of the members. The Functions are not cursor- or member-sensitive and are executed simply by pressing the function key.

Options is a method of executing ONE/Case functions that you need or want to be linked to the person selected, when the screen is showing a list of persons. For example, using the option method from the 'Define Household' screen, the system passes to the function the Person Number for which you want to execute the function.

The options all work the same way. You key the option code in the 'S' column and press Enter or one of the function keys.

Show below are explanations of the options available from the 'Define Household' screen.

C Designate Person as Case Member (C=Case Member)
Working with the F10=Cases function key to create a new ONECase case, you select with a >C= the person(s) that will be members of the case -- not the client. You may mark more than one person before pressing the F10=Cases key.

D Delete Member from CS Household (D=Delete Mbr)
Remove the person from membership in the Client Statement Household. This function does not remove the person from the membership in the Family nor does it preclude adding the person back into membership at a later date. Once this action is taken, the person no longer appears on the screen. Key an 'D' beside the person and press Enter.

E "Explore Case Relationships" (E=Explore)
Access "Explore Case Relationships" for the person selected. Key an 'E' beside the person and press Enter. The program will access the Explore procedure, filling in the Person Number of the person you select. For more information, see the Cases section of the ONECase guide.

F "Maintain Family Groups" (F=Family)
Access the "Maintain Family Groups" procedure for the person selected. Key an 'F' beside the person and press Enter. The program will access the Family Group procedure, displaying any family groups in which the person you selected is a member. If there is more than one, you will need to select the family group. If there is only one group, it will go ahead and display the members of the family group. For more information, see the Persons volume of the ONECase guide.

I Member Comment (I=Include Comment)
Access a small window into which you can key a brief comment about the member. Key an 'I' in the S column and press Enter.

M Document Matches (M=Matches)
Access the "Maintain Match Results" program for the person selected. Key an 'M' beside the person and press Enter. The program will access the 'Maintain Match Results' window, displaying only the matches required program flags turned on with a 'Y'. For more information, see the section entitled 'Do or delegate the Matches' later in this guide.

N "Work with Notes" (N=Notes)
Access the "Work with Notes" procedure. This option achieves the same result as pressing the F2=Notes key. Key an 'N' beside the person and press Enter. The program will access the Notes procedure, showing any notes that exist for the criteria shown at the top of the screen -- usually all the notes for the statement. For more information about notes, see the Notes section of the ONECase guide.

P "Work with Data about Persons" (P=Maintain Person)
Access "Work with Data about Persons" for the member selected. Key an 'P' beside the person and press Enter. For more information, see the Persons section of the ONECase guide.

S Designate Person as Case Client (S=Client)
Working with the F10=Cases function key to create a new ONE/Case case, you select with a 'S' the person that will be the client in the case -- use 'C' to select case members. You may mark more than one person before pressing the F10=Cases key.

V "View Data about Persons" (V=View Person)
Access "View Data about Persons" for the person selected. Key a 'V' beside the person and press Enter. For more information, see the Persons volume of the ONECase guide.
