Step 3: Key Allegation Notes

Press F18=Sgn to show all the standard questions.
Select a question by typing a ‘X’ next to the question and pressing Enter.

End the dictation
Press F3=Exit to leave the ‘Work with Allegation Notes’ screen.
The ‘Refer Incident’ window will appear.
You may exit the allegation notes from any segment.
You do not have to key an answer to each segment question.
Go to Step 4.

After you leave the ‘Work with Incident Participants’ screen, the program will automatically carry you to the ‘Work with Allegation Notes’ screen.

The program first allows the worker to key notes from information the reporter provided. The program also allows the intake worker to answer a series of questions about the incident. The questions must be answered. There is no option at this point to back out. The worker can simply cycle through the questions and answer the questions later but each question is presented.

The questions are defined by the standards adopted by the agency. An authorized worker can maintain the questions by selecting option 55 on menu 50.

The allegation notes screen is similar in format to the screen shown. However, it is actually the same screen that you would use to key a case note. You should read more about this important feature in the separate guide CASE NOTES/FORMS. This guide does not attempt to repeat that material.
