Define User IDs for Workers

You will need to give each new Worker a unique User ID to sign-on to the AS/400 Application Server. User IDs on the AS/400 can be up to ten characters in length. Cox & Company recommends that you adopt a format for the User ID which can be easily remembered or figured out by all the Workers using the system.

We believe the most logical User ID is worker’ email address.

A second best alternative is the first six letters of the Worker's last name followed by as many letters of the first name needed to avoid duplicates. For example, using this format, the User ID for Jenny Jones would be JONESJ, the User ID for Ted Wannamaker would be WANNAMT, and the format for Jerry Jones might be JONESJER. As an alternative in this example, you could assign Jerry Jones the User ID JONESJ2.

One of the users must be G400SEC, which is the ONECase System Administration. G400SEC is the only user permitted by ONECase to access the "Work with ONECase Controls" and "Authorize ID Protected Procedures" procedures.
